Hearing God’s Call: Discerning Our God-Given Purposes
8-Session Lenten Journey
Thursday Evenings 7-9 pm  beginning Feb 23rd
“What is God calling me to do with my time,my gifts, my life?” “What is my passion and purpose in life?” “What are my God-given missions in my home, my church, my workplace, my corner of the world?” “How do I discern what God’s will is for me each day, and for this time of my life?” Through Bible studies on the prophets, supportive group sharing, reading, and case studies, participants will gain clarity on all the ways God is nudging them into action and transformation. We will explore how to heal our fear and resistance to God’s calls, and at the same time kindle the wonderful fire of God’s spirit that is shut up on our bones. We will identify, each in our own way, the unique ways we long to be instruments of God’s love and grace, the activities that give us the deepest sense of purpose, and our next steps in serving God more enthusiastically in our daily life and work, Using the primary discernment tool of this course, the “Spiritual Passion Profile,” we will explore each week another angle on how God speaks to us and nudges us through our experiences of purposeful action, awakenings to God, sorrows, gifts, compassion, and ideals and dreams.  Each session of HEARING GOD’S CALL is designed as a “mini-retreat” experience, creating deep trust and sharing among the participants.  There is no charge for the course, but registration is required, as is a personal commitment of attendance. Please sign up in the Common Room. If you have any questions or would like more information, contact Marianne at 885-9443.
